You may play as an individual, as a couple, as friends, as a family or as a team. You will be presented with a set of clues, or puzzles, that you must solve. Each clue leads to a location where players must use the information already given to them to find the next clue. The final clue will lead you to the treasure!

A treasure hunt is a fun way to get outside and explore your surroundings — but it’s not for the faint of heart. You may be required to do some hiking. You may encounter water, rocks, animals, bugs, and other people. Please proceed with safety in mind, for each person in your group.

Please make sure you register before you start hunting. If you are playing with another person, please register together as a group. The game begins August 31, 2023. Check back here early that morning on how to begin.

We’re thrilled to share a thrilling update that adds an extra layer of competition and camaraderie to the adventure. Not only does the first person to unearth the treasure win the grand prize of $1,000 and the prestigious large silver ingot, but we’ve also introduced a small reward for the second, third, and fourth place who crack the clues and unlock the secrets of the hunt.

These worthy adventurers will get to find and keep mini silver ingots, a tangible testament to their determination and puzzle-solving prowess. While these mini ingots may be small in size, they hold the same spirit of adventure and discovery as the main prize. We kindly request that the first-place winner takes the larger ingot while leaving the smaller ones for the second, third, and fourth place winners.

During testing, we noticed that different phones’ GPS systems occasionally pointed in various directions. However, when we reached the designated locations, the app correctly acknowledged our arrival.

During testing, we noticed that different phones’ GPS systems occasionally pointed in various directions. However, when we reached the designated locations, the app correctly acknowledged our arrival.

To ensure you’re on the right track, we strongly recommend deciphering the clue that guides you before embarking on your journey. This step will help you stay confidently headed in the correct direction.

Remember that GPS signals can be influenced by various factors – from tall buildings to vehicles and even trees. If your device supports it, using Bluetooth might improve your location accuracy. Please note that not all devices include a compass module, which might result in the directional arrow not appearing.

It’s worth mentioning that a few locations are designed to challenge you in a different way – they don’t rely on GPS features. These subtle variations add an extra layer of fun and excitement to the adventure.

GUIDELINES/TIPS:

• Leave roads, trails, and pathways cleaner than you found them.
• No digging will be required.
• Take plenty of water and sunscreen.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Bring a camera to take pictures of the clues you find, or a notepad to write them down.
• Take plenty of pictures or video recordings while on your search to share the fun!
• Don’t give away clues to spoil your chances.
• Be courteous of other people, treasure hunters or not.
• Access to some clues/answers may not be available at all times, be patient.

RULES:

• Registration is required so we know how many people are participating.
• Hunt begins August 31, 2023 and ends when the treasure has been found.
• If you are under 18, please make sure you have your parent or guardians permission.
• No removing of clues or you will be disqualified.
• If you are the lucky finder of the ingot, bring it to Janeen Dean at Peteetneet Museum for your $1,000 reward ASAP! This is how we will know it has been found.
• If you are a lucky finder of a mini ingot, bring it to Janeen Dean at the Peteetneet Museum for your reward.
